Explain the influence of the nature of color masterbatch on plastic products
1. The dispersibility of dispersion color masterbatch has a great impact on the quality of plastic products. The dispersion of color masterbatch depends on the product. Generally, the dispersion of color masterbatch should be better for blow molded ultra-thin film and injection molded long, thin and light color products. The color masterbatch with good dispersion has smooth surface and uniform color For the dispersion of color masterbatch, please refer to the specific provisions on dispersion in the national industry standard QB1648-92 "Polyolefin color masterbatch".
2. Heat resistance of color masterbatch The heat resistance of color masterbatch refers to the ability of color masterbatch to resist changes in color or performance caused by chemical degradation, crystal changes in the plastic mixture and interactions between colorants and other additives at processing temperature. The degree of thermal stability varies with the color of masterbatch, temperature and time, and is directly related to molding equipment and processing methods. Generally speaking, light color masterbatch has poorer heat resistance than dark color masterbatch; The heat resistance of color matching masterbatch (such as orange made of red and yellow) is worse than that of single color masterbatch; The heat resistance of masterbatch made of organic pigments and dyes is worse than that of masterbatch made of inorganic pigments.
3. Weather resistance of color masterbatch Weather resistance of color masterbatch refers to the ability of color masterbatch to withstand various climates, including visible and ultraviolet light, moisture, temperature, atmospheric oxidation and chemical agents encountered during the use of products. As the pigment dyes in the color coating can shield the light, the addition of artificial color masterbatch is beneficial to the light stability of plastic products. The color masterbatch made of inorganic pigments can greatly improve the light stability of plastic products after adding them. Color masterbatches made of organic pigments or dyes have good or bad stability due to their different structures. For example, the cadmium yellow contained in the color masterbatch will fade under the action of water and sunlight. Although Risol Red has good light resistance, it will fade seriously when used outdoors with acid and alkali components. The degree of fading depends on the concentration of the color masterbatch used. Generally, the lighter the color, the easier it will fade.
4. Migration resistance of color masterbatch The migration performance of color masterbatch is that the pigment or dye in the color masterbatch moves from the inside of the plastic product to the surface of the product, or moves to the adjacent product or solvent through an interface. When using color masterbatch with poor migration resistance to color the cable, the colorant migrates to the wire surface, which makes the wire color confused, and may even migrate out of the insulating material through the cable sheath. The reason for migration is that the plastic molecular structure is not close enough to prevent pigment molecules from moving to the surface or interface. This phenomenon occurs when the plasticizer is added excessively. Solution: reduce the amount of plasticizer or change the macromolecular organic pigment.
