What are the main types of additives in black masterbatch?
#Color masterbatch#
The general technical process for producing black masterbatch is wet process. The masterbatch is grinded with water, washed, dried, phase shifted and granulated. The quality of the masterbatch produced in this way is quite guaranteed. The additive components in black masterbatch mainly include the following categories:
1. Pigments or dyes: Pigments are also divided into organic pigments and inorganic pigments. Common organic pigments include phthalocyanine red, phthalocyanine blue, phthalocyanine green, light fast scarlet, macromolecular red, macromolecular yellow, Yonggu yellow, Yonggu purple, azo red, etc. Common inorganic pigments include cadmium red, cadmium yellow, titanium dioxide, carbon black, iron oxide red, iron oxide yellow, etc. For black masterbatch, our common pigment is carbon black.
2. The carrier is the matrix of color masterbatch. The special color masterbatch generally selects the same resin as the product resin as the carrier, which has good compatibility, but at the same time, the mobility of the carrier should also be considered.
3. The dispersant can make the pigment disperse uniformly and no longer agglomerate. The melting point of the dispersant should be lower than that of the resin, and it has good compatibility with the resin and good affinity with the pigment. Common dispersants are polyethylene low molecular wax and stearate.
4. Additives such as flame retardant, brightening, anti-bacterial, anti-static, anti-oxidation and other varieties, generally do not contain the above additives in the color masterbatch unless required by the customer.
